Week in Review:
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Happy Friday to you all! It has been a spectacular week here at St. Mary’s inside and outside. Not only have we been treated to chill weather, crunching leaves, and the smells of the Fall, but we have also had our students involved in lots of creative and meaningful learning activities. There were volcano demonstrations, plank challenges, creative pumpkin art, and Mass with Fr. Bruno! The smiles, laughs, and creative expressions have been a joy to see and continue to reinforce how special our students and school are. As we look to this weekend and the week ahead, there are so many wonderful things on the horizon.
Not only do we have our much-anticipated Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat this Sunday from 3:00-6:00 pm, but we are also celebrating All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, All Souls Day, and Día de Los Muertos. In these next few days, our Catholic Faith calls us to remember those holy men and women who have lived lives of heroic virtue and try to follow their examples. We also remember and pray for all those who have passed from this life, that they may be united with God in heaven as soon as possible. Our faith also reinforces the power of prayer and reminds us to pray for others and also ask others on earth and in heaven to pray and intercede for us.
Have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you at Prayer Square!
God Bless,
Brian
Need to Know:
- Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat:
This Sunday, from 3:00-6:00 pm, we will be hosting a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat in the parking lot and on Skoro Field. This is a wonderful community-building event and all are invited. Please plan to come to this fun event and spend some time getting to know the families in our school community. - Yucky germs are going around:
As you all know, COVID is still a reality in our community and there are a lot of viruses and other yucky germs going around. If your child is sick, please do not send them to school. If they come to school sick, we will be calling parents to pick them up. If a student is sent home sick, they cannot come to school the next day. I realize this creates challenges for families, but we are trying to keep our school as clean and safe as possible and help our school staff stay healthy. Please help us in this area by doing your part. - We NEED your help:
Currently, the school would love to have volunteers to help with Morning Recess, Lunch, and Lunch Recess. If you are interested in helping with these, please contact the school. Remember, all families are required to give 25 volunteer hours per year. This is a fun and easy way to get those hours in.
Nice to Know:
- School Lunches:
If you are interested in ordering lunch or milk for your child, please click HERE and follow the instructions. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the school. - 4:00 pm Sunday Family Mass:
The 4:00 pm Sunday Family Mass has been a successful addition to the Parish Mass lineup and will become a permanent fixture at St. Mary’s. All are welcome, and we hope that lots of families will find this Mass a welcoming and calm environment to worship together with their children.

Wisdom from Our Young Scholars:
- From one of our 8th graders, “Me with my phone is like you when you had a Nintendo.” I had to remind him that the original Nintendos were plugged into the wall and much bigger than his phone. Also, I never had a Nintendo. However, I was impressed that he knew what the original Nintendo systems looked like!
