Week in Review:
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
For a week of online learning, it was pretty packed. Wednesday was a huge day in our school. We celebrated Mrs. Campanella and the amazing work she does for St. Mary’s on Administrative Professionals Day. We recognized Earth Day with some amazing art work from our students. And finally, we were blessed to be able to join Fr. John on Facebook Live for the first of many live streamed daily Masses. On Thursday, we kicked off the St. Mary’s Auction on our virtual platform. This amazing auction is the result of so much hard work from so many in our community. I can’t emphasize enough how important this fundraiser is for the life of our school and allowing us to provide an incredible education to our students. Please take some time in the next few days to check out this amazing auction and find something interesting to bid on. Also, please share the auction information with you friends and family, so they can also participate in this amazing and incredibly important fundraiser for our school. Click HERE to go to directly to our auction. On Friday, I was able to see the hard work of so many families on the Family Recycle Building Challenge. You all created so many neat and creative things out of the things in your recycling bin. Great work everyone! I was so impressed. Check out the photo gallery below to see all the cool creations.
On a different note, we have been at this Distance Learning Plan for the last 5 school weeks. It has been a new experience for all of us, and I applaud our students, families and our staff’s hard work and dedication to this new and unfamiliar way of teaching and learning. Also, as we approach the end of the school year, I am sure many of you are interested in speaking with your student’s teacher to discuss their progress so far this year and discuss their preparedness for next school year. Before we were sent on our extended Coronacation, I planned to have Spring conferences at the school. However, we will need to modify this plan to achieve the same goals. Because of this, we will have our virtual Spring conferences the week of May 4-8. Your grade level teachers will be reaching out to you all early next week via email to provide some days and times that they will be available to speak by phone or possibly a Zoom call to conduct Spring conferences. These conferences are an opportunity for you to speak with your grade level teachers about your student’s progress so far this year and preparedness for next school year. These are not mandatory, however, we wanted to give you all the opportunity to speak with your teacher if you had any questions or concerns about your student.
During this weekend, I hope you all are able to take some time to relax and refresh with your family and friends. I also highly encourage you to check out the school’s auction and share the information with your family and friends. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers, and I pray that we will all be able to see each other soon. May God bless you all and keep you close to his heart.
Continue to stay plugged in by looking at the weekly slideshow. You can’t help being amazed and energized by our students’ smiles and engagement in their work. Click HERE to see the photos.
