Dear Families,
September is flying by. As we get further into the school year, I am encouraging the students to develop their skills and abilities to be learners. Learning happens all around us, not just in the classrooms. Today at Prayer Square, we talked about the need to persevere. Things may seem more difficult, especially as the material becomes more complex. Each of us need to develop the skills to break down big and overwhelming things and continue to move forward.
- MAP Testing – 2nd through 8th grade started testing this week with Reading and Language Usage. Next week will be the Math and Science tests. We will be testing on Tuesday and Thursday next week in the morning. MAP tests are not about achievement, but growth. We track our students season to season and year to year. Our focus is on the development of the student, not just where they are at the moment. This is an article explaining MAP testing.
- You are invited to join us to celebrate the Eucharist every Wednesday. Each week we are learning valuable lessons from the scripture and through the homily. You are welcomed to sit with your student or have your student sit with you during the service.
- If you are going to be excusing your student early for whatever reason, please try to let Mrs. Campanella and their teacher know..
- September’s focus has been on being a Learner. We will recognize our outstanding Learners at the end of Mass, Wednesday, September 27th.
Thank you again for all your support and encouragement. God bless.
