Weekly Newsletter – August 30, 2024
Dear Parents,
Please remember, there is no school on Monday, September 2 or Friday, September 6.
Today at Mass, we celebrated the feast day of St. Augustine. Fr. John took the time to explain how St. Augustine lost his way at some point in his life. If not for his mother’s constant prayers and the help of dear friends, he may have never found his way back to the Lord.
Fr. John asked the students to think about “What did you do today to bring others to the Lord?” The answer can be as simple as holding the door for someone, or saying “Hello”. We never know what someone may need, but we can always try to be an inspiration to others.
Thank you to the students, families, staff and PTO for all your efforts with the Back to School Bash and Student-Led Mass. I am always amazed at the poise and confidence our students’ display when reading or speaking in public, especially in Spanish. The PTO continues to show a strong commitment to the school and its culture. Thank you to all who were involved and all who participated.
Mexican Dance – Each year Gloria Munoz, parish office, offers her time and expertise in Mexican dance. Students of all ages are welcome to attend on Wednesdays. This group has had the privilege of performing for the school, the parish, and at community events, such as Dia De Los Muertos at JUMP. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about Mexican dance.
