Week in Review:
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Happy New Year! It has been so wonderful seeing our amazing students back in the building and working hard to grow and develop as young scholars. We are truly blessed to be able to be in the building learning face to face each day. I know like many of you, I am happy to leave behind 2020 and see what the Good Lord has in store for us this year. Look for an email from me early next week with information on how to access your student’s second-quarter report cards. Since we have the ability to push out report cards electronically, we will not be printing them. I will send instructions on how to access your student’s grades.
Please be sure to read the whole newsletter. It has lots of important information. Finally, as always, be sure to subscribe to this newsletter to get it directly to your Inbox.
If you want to get an inside peek into life at the school, check the slideshows on my Google Classroom page.
Need to Know:
- The 300 x 300 Campaign:
This event has been incredibly successful so far. Currently, we are at the $74,000 mark and the final goal of $90,000 is so close! We are trying to make a final push in January and February to hit our goal and put a bright shiny bow on this fundraiser. If you want to read more about the campaign, click HERE. You can also give directly to the school by clicking on the following link: https://www.stmarys-boise.org. Look for the red DONATE button in the center of the page to contribute. - Idaho Business Review Reader Rankings 2021:
I have recently learned about the Idaho Business Review and their annual “Best Of” Reader Rankings for 2021. It is a long survey, but there is a section to rank/choose the Best Private Elementary School. When I took the survey, I was a bit puzzled and annoyed that St. Mary’s wasn’t even listed. However, I know that our community has lots of love for our school and would happily go on and choose us for the survey. When you have a few minutes, and if you feel motivated, please go on and rank us for the Best Elementary School. You have to go to the second page of the survey and look for Question #10 where it asks about the Best Private Elementary Schools. Our school’s name is not listed, but if you choose “Other”, you can type in our school’s name. Please type the following in the space provided, “St. Mary’s Catholic School (Boise)”. Please be sure to write “(Boise)” because there is another St. Mary’s School in Moscow. Also, vote for Bishop Kelly for the High School Section (#11). Thanks!!!Here is the link: https://idahobusinessreview.com/reader-rankings/You can only vote once per web browser. This means you can vote once with Chrome, once with Microsoft Edge, and once with Firefox. Let’s show everyone how great St. Mary’s is and why we need to be on that list!
Nice to Know:
- Where is Mr. Olmes’ weekly slideshow???
If you are wanting to see this week’s and the past weekly slideshows, you need to access my Google Classroom page. All of the students in school should have been added and/or invited to my Google Classroom. Once you are in my Classroom, look at my “Stream” and you will see links for each of the weekly slideshows. When you click on them, it will direct you to an album where you can see all of the neat things happening at the school.

Wisdom from Our Young Scholars:
- When one of our little ones came inside from recess and was sweating, they had their hand in their armpit and said, “My elbow is STICKY!” When the teacher said, “That’s not your elbow.”, the student responded by saying, “I don’t know what it’s called, but it’s sticky!”
